Percepta is currently seeking an experienced Instructional Designer in our Dearborn, MI location.
Training Instructional Designer analyzes the training needs for client-based programs. Works closely with clients to deliver contracted training materials. Designs and develops new hire programs and continuous training by project using ADDIE methodology. Evaluates and administers alternative training methods and develops standard training materials using various multi-media formats.
Duties and Responsibilities
*Attend client meetings as requested by Training Manger.
*Ensure compliance to the standards and processes for the Training Department.
*Communicate to Training Manger regarding project status and issues needing resolution.
*Manage client expectations regarding project
*Be responsive to the changing needs of the client
*Maintain training records, as required.
*Conduct a front-end needs analysis; job/task identification and task analysis when analyzing a new program/training curriculum
*Work closely with the client and operations to identify scope, objectives, and approach of project.
*Select the most effective instructional methods.
*Conduct performance gaps analysis to identify knowledge gaps then apply or recommend an intervention to bridge the gap.
*Partner with Quality Assurance, Team Leads and Trainers to identify training needs by program.
*Measure the effectiveness of training.
*Conduct post-project analysis to determine the quality of implementation and provide feedback recommending training interventions.
Design, Development and Implementation
*Work closely with Training Specialists to create and edit training materials.
*Incorporate adult learning principles and accelerated learning principles into course design.
*Design and develop facilitator and participant material for New Hire and continuous training by project, using various multimedia formats.
*Design and develop performance objectives.
*Design realistic practice exercises, role plays, case studies, games and simulations.
* Develop evaluations that are linked to the performance objectives.
*Develop and maintain online reference information, as required.
*Develop and conduct Train The Trainer sessions.
*Develop and maintain process flows and/or procedures where appropriate.
*Develop templates and forms to support process flows and procedures when required.
*Conduct training classes as needed.
*Maintain a positive work environment that fosters team performance.
*Work on activities and/or projects as requested by the Training Manager.
*Act as a backup trainer as needed.
