DPS TRAINING CORPORAL

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Training Corporal trains the Team members on daily responsibilities. This position also designs and implements training.


FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort and Casino. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Implementing and designing training current with industry standards.
•Conducts classroom instructions for DPS personnel.
•Remedial training for DPS personnel.
•Training Corporal is responsible for daily staffing and assignments of each officer for their shift.
•Training Corporal is responsible for daily briefing covering all activities occurring in and out of the Casino.
•Training Corporal is responsible that officers are responding in a timely manner to all the cash cages as requested to hand pays, chip fills, Kiosk and other functions as called upon.
•Training Corporal keeps correct documentation of all logs, the issuances of keys and cards at post 7A.
•Training Corporal maintains correct documentation on the storage and destruction of playing cards.
•Training Corporal insures the destruction of sensitive materials are being shredded correctly
•Training Corporal is the first line of supervisory corrective measures.
•Training Corporal makes certain all officers are given their breaks and lunch periods.
•Training Corporal ensures officers are complying with Casino and Leadership goals and objectives.
•There is no less essential job function for a Corporal all are critical for the successful operation of the casino.
•Other duties assigned.


ACCOUNTABILITY: The Training Corporal has supervisory responsibilities including training, performance journaling and making valuable recommendations for performance evaluations.

Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:  At least 5 years experience is required/or 10 years preferred to successfully perform this job.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
•Must be able to obtain a Class “A” gaming license.
•Valid CA Guard Card
•CA Weapons Permit
•PC 832

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
•Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office programs.
•Basic typing skills.
•Must be able to speak clearly and concisely on a radio.

•Must be outgoing, energetic and capable of interacting with the general public and team members in a highly professional manner.
•Possess great integrity, a team player, a supportive and effective listener who seeks to motivate, coach and mentor the team.
•Ability to work in a stressful environment.
•Must be able to speak clearly and concisely on a radio.
•Flexible to train all shifts.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
•Must be a self-starter who is highly motivated and resourceful.
•Must be able to work with a positive attitude in a fast paced and culturally diverse casino environment.
•Excellent verbal/written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationship building are a must.
•Solid project and time management skills.
•Ability to use a variety of learning/training concepts and principles is required along with knowledge of adult learning.
