Accounting / Finance

  • Responsible for entering approved data in accounting system(s) to process transactions in a timely, comprehensive manner following document procedures and proper internal control practices.
  • Prepare journal entries, worksheets, reconciliation and other documentation to ensure that transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepares various reconciliations of accounts and journal entries related to such accounts.
  • Review/analyze/audit data to ensure accuracy and minimize exposure by following taxing requirements and departmental procedures for all revenue, expense and balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform and document analysis of accounting transactions, including comparisons to forecasted and trended results during close and for quarterly and annual trend analysis reports.
  • Prepares/Collects external audit requests and schedules for quarterly reviews, year-end audits, and internal audits.
  • Should question/validate data provided, gather additional information, request clarification/backup documentation, correct inaccuracies and/or to address other needs/issues prior (or subsequent) to the initiation of processing activities.
  • Interacts with property-level operational and accounting departments to ensure timely and accurate closing process.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of non-routine issues and refers matters outside assigned scope of authority to appropriate individuals.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality in performing all aspects of their assigned responsibilities.
  • Work with the Choctaw Gaming Commission personnel, Tribal Internal Audit personnel, external auditors, as well as other CRDE staff to address or research findings related to various audits and inspections. 
  • Prepare assigned regulatory and tax reports for all Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise operations.
  • Assist in completing special projects and assisting other Accounting and Finance staff as requested or required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Choctaw Gaming Commission.
  • Must have a 4-year Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university or other institute of higher learning with a major in Accounting.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of previous public accounting experience or one year in a similar accounting role is required.
  • Experience with accounting software required; Infinium experience preferred; Intermediate to Expert level in Microsoft Excel; Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.  
  • Must be proficient and accurate in operating a 10-Key calculator and in accurately and efficiently typing on a computer keyboard.
  • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to multi-task to meet tight deadlines.
  • Passing grade of standard accounting exam prepared for this position.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must possess the ability to handle sensitive and stressful situations with tact, discretion and significant awareness of confidentiality.
  • Must be willing and able to follow all departmental policies and procedures, as required.
  • Must possess the willingness to be a team player and partner with other Associates in order to complete the assigned tasks.  The candidate must be able to accomplish all assigned duties in a positive manner.
  • Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, sometimes in excess of 4 hours at a time.
  • Extended use of the computer and possible eye strain may be required throughout the assigned shift.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for at least 50% of assigned shift.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver at least forty (40) pounds.
  • Bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling may be required throughout shift.
  • Must be able to work within a smoke filled environment, if required.
