Receive and understand food orders from the dining room and the assigned supervisor.
Assist the other assigned personnel in the preparation of the requested food and to coordinate the orders for pick up by the Food Server.
Prepare orders according to standard recipes in a proper, professional, and timely manner.
Maintain the cleanliness of the work stations, kitchen area, walk-in coolers and freezers.
Assure the production of the best quality possible in a proper sanitary and professional manner.
Maintain the inventory of the work stations. Control waste by monitoring proper rotation, storage and over production.
Order stock for the next day or the next shift, as required.
Inform the Chef on duty of any problems they may encounter during the shift.
Assist in providing breaks for other Associates working the line, as necessary when advised.
Work with and communicate with the other Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, Kitchen Workers, and Food Server, as required.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.
Must have a high school diploma, a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or its equivalent.
A minimum of two (2) years of previous progressive Food and Beverage experience in the culinary side of operations is preferred.
Must have completed a Serv Safe awareness class prior to starting work.
Must possess some analytical skills and have a high degree of originality, initiative, and judgment.
Must possess outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, in contact with Associates and other department personnel.
Must have the ability to work independently without direct oversight and management.
Must possess a strong work ethic and an intense desire to be the best by being a hands-on, results-oriented Associate who is committed to ensuring that the established goals and objectives are met.
Must be a dedicated individual who understands the concept and need for teamwork, while assisting other Associates and departments to meet their established goals and objectives.
Must be able to provide a professional presence and appearance.
Must have a proven ability to handle multiple tasks and deploy resources effectively.
Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, holidays and additional hours as required.
Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time, sometimes in excess of 10 hours.
Must be able to work in an environment that utilizes heat and flames in a safe manner.
Must be able to frequently walk, sit and perform functions with each hand and arm.
Must be able to work in an industrial type environment with a potential noise level reaching in excess of 70 decibels at times.
Bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, kneeling, pulling and pushing may be required throughout the assigned shift.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to safely lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds on occasions.
Must be able to work within a smoke filled environment.
Must be able to read and interpret complex recipes.
Must be able to work in a variety of settings, including outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
