The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor provides supervisory level work assignments. Chiefly, acts as coach, trainer, and leader building skill levels of all on crew by example and demonstration. Frequently performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on Hotel and Casino buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems. This position is a Shift Supervisor level position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a working supervisor; leads and coaches crew by example; may performs all maintenance tasks assigned to crew, may fill in on tasks frequently
  • Ensures safety of the personnel in their department and conduct regular safety meetings
  • Ensures safety as it relates to equipment maintenance, guarding, etc.
  • Complies with established best business practices for, and participate in the hiring, training, rewarding, and coaching of the employees in the Maintenance department
  • Assists in the coordination of effort between the Maintenance department and other departments within the organization by building effective working relationships
  • Develops, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition 
  • Takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that departmental goals are met
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines team members; addresses complaints and resolves problems
  • Conducts regular meetings with team members; Prepares weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts, adjusts schedules throughout the week to meet business demands
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the maintenance electrical and mechanical operations
  • Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship and safety are maintained
  • Ensures proper maintenance of facility machinery and building 
  • Maintains inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep to plant facilities 
  • Keeps MSDS current 
  • Participates in problem identification and quality improvement efforts
  • Participates in special projects, as needed 
  • Uses effective written and verbal skills to accomplish responsibilities

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months of from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Associate’s Degree in business, mechanical or electrical discipline or Related field– required
    • OR Two (2) years’ Supervisory experience– required
    • OR One (1) year experience as a Dual-Rate Supervisor in a Wind Creek Hospitality Department– required
    • OR Two (2) years’ experience in the hiring position’s Department– required
  • Must have at least seven (7) years of commercial property experience in maintaining or repairing of buildings, systems or equipment– required

    • Must have completed at least four (4) maintenance certificates such as maintenance certificates granted by an accredited trade school, maintenance certificates granted by any branch of the US military, industrial maintenance certificates granted by TPC (live.tpctraining.org), ice machine cleaning certificate, certificates granted by Ware Boiler University (wareinc.com/boiler-university), maintenance certificates granted by ITC Learning (itclearning.com), industrial or building maintenance certificates granted by 360 Training (360training.com), US Environmental Protection Agency Class A OR Class B Operator certification, State of Alabama Plumbing/Gas Apprentice Card, instrumentation and controls training, Level I Locksmith Certification (http://www.lsieducation.com/), NFPA96, recreational water treatment, CPO (Certified Pool Operator), CSP (Certified Service Professional), — both granted by Assn. of Pool & Spa Professionals, CBP (Certified Building Professional), Level I Locksmith Certification (http://www.lsieducation.com/), Valid Custodial Pesticide Applicator Permit, issued by the State of Alabama, current and in good standing. Specifically, the Permit shall be the Industrial, Institutional and Health Related Pest Control (IIHC), OSHA 10, OSHA 30, EPA 608, EPA I, EPA II, Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRT) granted by the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) (https://smrp.org/Certification/CMRT-Certification), Facilities Maintenance Certificate (FMC)/ Systems Maintenance Certificate (SMC)/ Building Energy Certificate Program (BEC) all granted by the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) (https://www.bomi.org/), credentialing by- IFMA, (Int’l Facility Managers Assn.), USGBC (US Green Building Council), AEE (Association of Energy Engineers), ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers), ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering), APPA (Association of Physical Plant Administrators), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

  • Must complete Supervisor Essentials or Management Fundamentals within six months of employment- required
  • Must have good hearing and eyesight

  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
