Cage Cashier

UP TO $3,000 SIGN ON BONUS

 

In this fast paced, high energy environment where accuracy is essential, how do we keep track of our many casino transactions?   As a Cage Cashier, you will be in the forefront of the transaction process by redeeming slot machine tickets/vouchers; selling and redeeming table games chips; performing currency exchange; and processing credit card cash advances and debit card withdrawals.  While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our Mission, Vision, and Values.    

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Assist guests by redeeming slot machine tickets/vouchers for cash; selling and redeeming table games chips for cash; performing currency exchanges; cashing guests’ checks; and processing credit card cash advances and debit card withdrawals. 
  2. *Administrate and provide accountability for assigned window including accurately processing a high volume of all monetary instruments and transactions and counting and reconciling cash and transactional instruments at end of shift. 
  3. *Use several different software applications and electronic equipment including a point-of sale system to process, track, report, and balance the high volume of transactions performed.
  4. *Complete all Title 31 and tax process paperwork.
  5. *Receive payments and process Poker tournament buy-ins and pay out winnings.  
  6. *Disburse requested monies to gaming operations team members according to established guidelines.  
  7. *Transport even exchanges to cages and vault.
  8. Take in-person and telephone guest reservations for bingo games including explaining seating chart to guest, and filling out required paperwork. 
  9. Process Bus tour payments and Heart of Canal Street donations.
  10. Provide ultimate guest service by maintaining a professional, positive, and courteous attitude. 
  11. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

Job Qualifications

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of cash handling experience are required.
  2. The ability to demonstrate basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting using whole numbers and United States currency.
  3. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment including a calculator and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Previous experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system preferred. 
  4. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.  
  5. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally. 
  6. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  7. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.   The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member is be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with assistance.  Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.     

 

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually moderate to loud.  When on the casino floor the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
