Banquet Bartender (PT)

As a Banquet Bartender, you will have a genuine passion for guest service, top notch organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Mix and pour drinks per recipe cards using accurate measures and proper glassware. Responsible to complete drink orders for both guest and server needs..
  2. *Greet guests promptly with a friendly expression of acknowledgment. Assess, anticipate, and attend to guest needs or concerns in a courteous manner.
  3. *Operate and clean all equipment in bar areas including beverage dispensing systems and beer taps.
  4. *Push mobile bars into place and return to proper storage after events.
  5. *Thorough and effective knowledge and understanding of Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) to ensure bars are set and specified service is met.  Ensure to have all necessary product and equipment for each event.
  6. *Must attend pre-shift meetings to ensure clear understanding for proper attention to timing and service needs.
  7. *Use point-of-sale (POS) system to accurately enter orders, disburse correct change, and process credit card and other transactions.
  8. *Assist in ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction is achieved and maintained. Adapt to last minute changes, remain thoughtful in difficult situations and positively resolve problems with critical thinking, taking initiative to satisfy and exceed guest expectations.
  9. *Monitor and ensure responsible alcohol service to guests. 
  10. *Maintain a clean, stocked, and safe work environment.
  11. *Maintain complete knowledge of menu and beverage selection and preparations to include wine, liqueur, liquor, champagne, and beer.
  12. *Maintain thorough knowledge of casino and hotel offerings, locations, promotions and events in order to answer guest inquiries and provide directions.
  13. *Communicate with fellow team, leadership, other departments, vendors and guests in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
  14. Work at other venues as assigned, based on business needs.    
  15. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and previous high volume bartending experience are preferred. Cash handling experience is preferred.
  2. Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems preferred.
  3. The ability to obtain and maintain a City of Milwaukee bartender's license within 90 days.
  4. The ability to successfully achieve Responsible Alcohol and ServSafe certifications within 90 days.
  5. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  6. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  7. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. Ability to read and interpret written instructions and diagrams.
  9. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk, walk, hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, sit, and move freely throughout the property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer/point-of-sale (POS) system. The team member is required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and up to 70 pounds occasionally, with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
