Grounds & Landscaping Maintenance

Description:

In this fast-paced, high energy environment where attention to detail is essential, how do we ensure our grounds and landscaping is kept up and looking good. As a Grounds and Landscaping Maintenance team member you will complete assigned projects throughout the hotel & casino grounds and have the ability to work well in a team.  While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our mission, vision, and values.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Maintain the cleanliness of the grounds and landscaping throughout company properties.
  2. *Perform landscaping duties including but not limited to cutting, trimming, watering, weeding, planting, and pruning.
  3. *Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, pathways, and other surfaces.
  4. *Ensure maintenance tools are kept in proper working condition and operate equipment safely. Report any unsafe conditions to management.
  5. *Complete landscaping and maintenance tasks in a timely, safe, and efficient manner while ensuring high levels of guest service and minimal disruption to business operations.
  6. Assist with small construction tasks including but not limited to excavation and handling and/or transportation of equipment and materials.
  7. Report any motor vehicle violations to management within 24 hours of the incident, if assigned driving responsibility.
  8. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Requirements:

  1.  A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. One year of landscaping, maintenance, or related work experience is required.
  2. Must be able to safely use landscaping and maintenance equipment including but not limited to power tools, lawn mowers, sweepers, and snow blowers.
  3. The ability to achieve and maintain a forklift license within 90 days.
  4. Must hold a valid, state-issued non-probationary Driver’s license.
  5. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and general computer skills.
  6. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  7. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  8. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  9. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member is required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions
The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.  While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and at heights. The team member is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold, and vibration.
