Nail Technician

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Discuss various nail services and options with guest and perform requested treatments such as natural nail manicures and pedicures, nail extensions, tips and wraps, acrylic nail forms, nail removal and nail design, and paraffin.
  2. *Prepare guests cuticle and nails by soaking, removing polish, cleaning, shaping, trimming, cutting, and pushing back cuticle using appropriate tools such as scissors, files, nippers, cuticle knives, and rotary abrasive wheel.
  3. *Assess the condition of clients' hands and/or feet, remove dead skin, and provide massage to hands and/or feet.
  4. *Apply undercoat and clear or colored polish onto nails with brush.
  5. *Extend nails using powder, solvent, and paper forms attached to tips of guest’s fingers to support and shape artificial nails.
  6. *Treat nails to repair or improve strength and resilience by wrapping.
  7. *Clean, sterilize, and sanitize tools and work environment, following and maintaining knowledge of laws and regulations related to the practice of manicuring hygiene and public health.
  8. *Maintain supply inventories and records of client services.
  9. Schedule guest appointments and accept payments.
  10.  Promote and sells nail products and other spa services and treatments and encourages repeat business.
  11.  Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  12.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and a current, active state of Wisconsin nail technician license are required. Previous nail technical experience preferred. 
  2. The ability to work safely and effectively with various beauty treatments/agents, tools, cleaning products, and equipment.
  3. The ability to complete required blood borne pathogen training.
  4. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment. Previous experience with point –of- sale (POS) systems is preferred.
  5. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  6. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  7. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  8. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the salon and property for duration of scheduled shift.  The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.   The team member must be able to operate a personal computer/point-of-sale (POS) system. The team member is required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds occasionally, with assistance.  Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.    

 

Working Conditions

The noise level is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.  While performing the duties of this job, the team member will use chemical and cleaning products, and may be exposed to blood borne pathogens.  The team member is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
