Slot Training Specialist

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

  1. *Provide onboarding and continuous training for Slot Operations and Slot Performance team members. Present and facilitate training using a variety of instructional techniques and formats in face-to-face classroom sessions.
  2. *Develop and evaluate training curriculum, working closely with other departments such as Compliance, Security, and Cage as needed. Monitor training for quality and effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  3. *Design, create, and maintain Slot training materials, manuals, tools, and aids.
  4. *Investigate and develop alternative methods of training delivery including but not limited to on-the-job instruction and web-based or multimedia-based learning.
  5. *Issue and maintain records of training certifications in compliance with current regulations, including documentation of training required by specific departments such as Emergency Evacuation, Title 31, and Security training.
  6. *Assist in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training team members; scheduling and motivating team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
  7. *Compile and analyze data, create reports, and make recommendations to department management regarding training needs and slot guest service issues.
  8. Assist all departments with Slot related questions and training.
  9. Assist in resolving guest questions or concerns.
  10. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of progressively responsible, related experience are required. An Associate’s degree in a related field can take the place of 1 year of experience.
  2. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and knowledge of Microsoft Office, including demonstrated knowledge of Basic Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Experience with International Game Technology (IGT) Advantage Monitor, Facility Wizard, and Machine Accounting programs preferred. Prior learning management system experience preferred.
  3. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  4. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally, including the ability to speak in front of small groups of team members.
  5. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  6. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for duration of scheduled shift.  The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.   The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member will be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions
The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
