Digital Developer

Job Description

Summary:  The Digital Developer uses coding languages to create the visual appearance of websites and digital performance marketing campaigns. This role has a primary focus on HTML5 coding for digital banners, also frequently referred to as a Front-end Developer, will combine the technical skills of coding with the art of design to create compelling digital experiences, banners and assets. In addition to technical skills, Front-End Developers should have an interest in being service-oriented, and helping non-technical professionals with their technical needs. Working under the leadership of the Graphic Design Supervisor, the Digital Developer supports all ONE brands’ guest and employee-facing initiatives including Turning Stone Resort Casino, Yellow Brick Road Casino, Point Place Casino, The Lake House, hotels, golf, spas, restaurants, nightclubs, weddings, group sales, convenience stores, marinas, and eco-tourism including the Oneida Indian Nation Outfitters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborates with Graphic Design Supervisor, Director of Creative Services, and other colleagues to best support larger strategic goals.
  2. Maintains department workflows and procedures while effectively and accurately completing assignments.  Acts as a liaison with outside vendors on special graphic projects as needed.
  3. Takes responsibility for the complete development cycle and workflow of projects to include concept, design, and illustrations as required.
  4. Consistently demonstrates innovation and creativity when developing animation/motion graphics for marketing campaigns.
  5. Stays informed and up to date on industry best practices and digital advances to provide compelling consumer marketing designs.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Interactive Design, Graphic/Web Design or related field is required. A combination of experience and education may be substituted.
  2. Three years of experience in front-end web development/programming along with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating expertise across multiple media channels is required.  
  3. Must be proficient on Mac based systems, HTML5, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), familiarity with Adobe Campaign Standard is a plus.   
  4. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  5. Must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends if required.
  6. Familiarity with Central New York advertising agencies, digital and video production vendors a plus.
  7. Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are critical.
