Director of Content Production

Job Description

Job Summary:  The Director of Content Production will lead a team of social media experts in developing robust social media content across current and new platforms as well as supervising a production team in developing digital content including audio, video, and photography. The Director will collaborate closely with peers in the Communications function as well as leaders across the organization in delivering requested content as well as developing new content strategies that create dynamic representations of the Oneida Indian Nation and its enterprises.  The Director will actively monitor and report engagement results and adjust strategies as necessary to optimize engagement performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.    Devises and implements the strategy and tools needed to build the image and increase the visibility of the organization and increase engagement on social platforms.
2.    Directs the productions teams’ digital strategy to grow multi-platform content, audience and engagement across all digital platforms.
3.    Guides the production team to develop internal and external communication platforms that deliver timely content 24/7 with story-telling that is optimized for each viewing screen.
4.    Administers full life-cycle audio-visual production from concept through revisions, and final publications, creating effective messages.
5.    Oversees the organization and maintenance of OIN’s multimedia database.
6.    Effectively aligns and integrates the communications objectives of all teams within the organization through partnership and planning.
7.    Leads and directs the production team to include hiring and performance management.
8.    Oversees the Nation’s production team; establishes production request process, prioritizes incoming projects, and ensures high quality output.  
9.    Successfully builds multi-channel communications programs leveraging, as appropriate, both external and internal platforms.
10.    Uses data-driven approach to inform ongoing strategy and maximize impact of communications initiatives; provides ongoing reporting of metrics tied to initiatives. 
11.    Establishes relationships with outside service providers as required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

1.    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field required. 
2.    Minimum 7 years of experience working in multi-media services to include content strategy, management of digital assets, and editing.
3.    Must have at least 5 years of experience overseeing a production team.
4.    Experience creating a narrative structure with a variety of communicative elements.
5.    Must have experience working across digital media; including internet, intranet, video, social media, and mobile.
6.    Proven record of increasing engagement through communications across a range of channels, including video, social, and the web.
7.    Must be adaptable to new technologies.  
8.    Ability to multi-task and deliver projects consistently on time and with accuracy.
9.    Excellent project management skills are required – must be highly organized, results oriented and able to take initiative and lead projects. 
10.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
11.    Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills are required; must have the ability to meet deadlines and work independently. 
12.    Must be a team player who supports the production team. 
13.    Must possess strategic, long term thinking focused on planning, executing and assessing.
