Sports Book Ticket Writer - Point Place Casino

Job Description

Our new sports book venue “The Lounge with Caesars Sports” will be opening this summer and we are bringing the best of sports betting to Upstate New York.  Apply now and be part of our winning team!  We are actively hiring Ticket Writers for all shifts. 

 

The Ticket Writer will provide exceptional service and create a fun and welcoming experience for all guests within the Sports Book area.  TheTicket Writer must be able to process all Sports Book transactions quickly, accurately and in accordance with wagering and payment policies.

 

Job Description:

  • Demonstrates outstanding “First with Our Guests” service skills consistently meeting or exceeding guest expectations.  Greets guests and quickly and accurately inputs betting information into system.  Prints ticket, accepts money, and gives ticket and change to guest.
  • Always asks guests to check their ticket for accuracy prior to leaving the window.
  • Accurately maintains bank; conducts monetary transactions including making change, paying out wins and conducting money exchanges throughout the entire shift and at closing.
  • Effectively and consistently communicates betting rules and provides betting instructions to guests in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Consistently checks all paperwork for accuracy.
  • Accurately verifies winning tickets.
  • Continually educates and answers guests’ questions about Sports book operations and payouts.
  • Learns and uses guests’ names and preferences to create personal connections and a welcoming environment.
  • Constantly display a poised, professional, smiling image.
  • Enthusiastically promotes departmental and property-wide promotions with all guests and proactively informs guests about loyalty program participation.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Consistently maintains visibility in guest areas and immediately responds to any guest questions and/or concerns. 
  • Consistently monitors assigned area for cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency is required.
  • Must have previous money-handling experience. At least 6 months in a gaming environment preferred. 
  • Must possess mathematical ability (addition and subtraction) to accurately pay and collect funds for guests.
  • Must possess excellent guest service and communication skills.
  • General knowledge of sports team and games preferred.
  • Must be able to work any day and any shift.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
