Job Description

Please note: Position located in Verona, NY

 

  • Assists with stage operations by flying, and dropping scenery, backdrops and sets.
  • Continually assists with all on stage activities before, during and after performances.
  • Communicates, when required, with road managers for the coordination all pre-production necessities.
  • Promptly assists performers with set up of specialized equipment as needed in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Assists with all lighting and sound checks for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ensures that all performers maintain a high level of professionalism with regard to dress and behavior while on Turning Stone property.
  • Assists with ensuring all in-house lighting and sound equipment is in proper working order and assists in the routine inspections of all lighting/sound systems and computer equipment.
  • Continually ensures that areas of responsibility are kept clean and orderly.
  • Consistently demonstrates safety when required to move furniture and equipment.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of current OSHA safety regulations and the ability to identify safety issues and respond appropriately.

Job Requirements

  • College degree or technical schooling degree is required. Will accept 2 years of professional stage hand experience in lieu of degree.
  • Must have previous stage hand experience in addition to degree.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of theatrical equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of minor lighting and sound maintenance.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must possess outstanding guest service skills.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to make decisions in a stressful environment and accommodate a flexible work schedule.
