Station Cook-Season's Harvest

Job Description

  • Effectively performs culinary skills and service in a public environment with poise and confidence and in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards.  Understands and is competent with all knife handling skills.
  • Always demonstrates the ability to apply advanced cooking techniques in order to produce creative food dishes (i.e. knife skills, carving skills, basic mother sauces, creative garnishing, ice carving, etc.).
  • Maintains constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner and following all safety and accident procedures.
  • Always provides prompt, courteous and professional service to all guests and employees on property.
  • Reports to the Supervisor/Manager before the start of the shift for assigned station and tasks.
  • Always completes assigned side work and ensures that the work areas/stations are clean, orderly and stocked with the specified items and amenities required to begin and complete the shift.  Ensures that work stations are set properly according to assigned area.  Consistently notifies Supervisor/Manager of any inventory that needs to be ordered or stocked.
  • Always ensures that all carving utensils and equipment are maintained appropriately, including cleaning and storing of all knives, ensuring knives are sharpened as needed and that each station has the utensils that are needed or other essential items for the shift.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all menu and beverage items, their ingredients, method of preparation and availability.  Maintains knowledge of all featured entrees of the assigned station.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, method of preparation and availability.
  • Exhibits care when handling dishware, glassware, silverware and food product.
  • Always follows approved methods of product preparation to ensure consistency as well as quality.  Offers recommendation(s) for improving methods of product preparation and recipe/menu development. 

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.  Associates degree in a related field or culinary degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Must possess a minimum of 2-3 years related experience. 
  • Must be able to operate a steamer, fryer, oven, etc. 
  • Must be able to speak and understand English; continuous communication with a degree of professionalism and accuracy.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures; 0 to 110 degrees. 
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. 
  • Ability to be safety oriented.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and multi task. 
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nights, holidays and weekends.
