Banquet Supervisor - Turning Stone

Job Description

  • Maintains working knowledge of F&B Operation’s internal functions, controls and software updates and takes the initiative to convey pertinent information to employees regarding policy changes.
  • Ensures efficiency and accurate performance standards are met by maintaining communication with all work areas to verify paperwork and inventory controls.
  • Consistently maintains professional rapport and confidentiality in communicating with other departments as required by procedure (i.e. MIS, Gaming Commission, Security, Credit, Surveillance, Games dept., Nation Police, Payroll, HR and Marketing).
  • Takes responsibility for making sure employees are trained/developed in F&B Operations and monitors business flow to develop efficient training, break and shift schedules.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of PAF and administrative procedures and in doing so, accurately tracks and records LOA’s, vacation time, EO's, call-outs, and special requests.
  • Consistently demonstrates the initiative and is available to assist F&B employees at designated outlet locations as needed.
  • Regularly monitors the inventory of all F&B supplies and orders supplies when needed.
  • Always completes and signs for all stock requisitions and continually monitors inventory costs against budget.
  • Consistently demonstrates the initiative to assist all clubhouse staff as required by business needs.
  • Consistently monitors recruitment needs and interviews prospective employment candidates. Makes informed selections while making sure Human Resources and the Operations Manager are consulted appropriately.
  • Continually demonstrates responsibility for overseeing, monitoring and delegating all Banquet Event orders at the Clubhouse, Convention Center, Event Center and Tower.
  • Always coordinates with meeting planners and convention officials prior to the event to ensure requirements have been met.
  • Always holds pre-function meetings to ensure that all employees have pertinent information and station assignments.
  • Effectively supervises the activities of all Banquet Food Servers and Bartenders in the function rooms during assigned shift, ensuring all functional job duties are performed according to established departmental policy/procedure.
  • Continually trains new employees in all F&B standards & procedures and ensures that all employees continually apply training techniques.
  • Continually monitors banquet function(s) as assigned and informs Manager of any problems that need to be addressed.
  • Continually demonstrates the ability to effectively address employee complaints.
  • Accurately completes and signs for all stock requisitions.
  • Continually works with all kitchen staff to ensure that food items are appropriately cooked and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Always demonstrates the ability to properly resolve guest complaints.
  • Promptly retrieves drawer from cage area when required and ensures that the drawer is accurate. Always ensures all items are in drawer and bags are properly labeled while ensuring that at shift end cash is accurately counted within drawer.
  • Always demonstrates outstanding guest service while accurately and effectively tendering banquet check.
  • Ensures that all banquet checks are settled at the end of each function and entered into the POS System and brought to the Cage at shift end.
  • Regularly attends BEO meeting or arranges for a representative to be present in your absence.
  • Ensures that all rented linen is bagged and shipped back, all in house soiled linen is placed in the proper bags and weighed.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. College degree or some level of secondary education preferred.
  • Previous F&B experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must possess computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess outstanding guest service skills.
  • Previous money handling experience with basic math skills required.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment and accommodate a flexible work schedule
