Assistant Pool Manager

Job Description

Anticipated Start Mid-May 2018

Assists the Pool Manager in the overall management of the recreation center pool.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Pool Manager in the overall management of the Nation pool and assumes full responsibility when the Pool Manager is unavailable.
  • Ensures compliance with operational policies and procedures of the Nation pool.
  • Assists with in-service training and scheduling of all pool personnel.
  • Collects and monitors data relative to the maintenance of the pool including chemical and water balance, climate control, cleanliness and related maintenance in compliance with standardized public pool guidelines. Ensures imbalances are corrected in an expeditious manner.
  • Assists with the maintenance of records of operational facility usage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements


Position Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 1-2 years’ experience in pool management or related recreational field.
  • Must be certified in First Aid, CPR and Lifesaving. Water Safety Instruction (WSI) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with youth programs preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pool maintenance and safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Exemplary guest service skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


    Position Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires medium/heavy physical work – exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work outdoors under conditions ranging from extreme hot to extreme cold; exposure to wind, humidity and water.
  • Subject to hazards such as exposure to electrical current, chemicals, fumes and odors.
  • Must have visual acuity for ability to closely monitor guests as they use pool facilities.
  • This position requires the following physical activities: standing, walking, swimming, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, feeling and reaching.
  • Must have acute speech and hearing for frequent interaction with guests.
