Car Care General Manager

Job Description

  • Responsible for day-to-day business operation and profitability.
  • Analyzes Shop Productivity reports (MaxxTraxx) to optimize efficiency and profitability, including, but not limited to job clock reporting, downtime, margin analysis, cost analysis of parts.
  • Forecast monthly sales and gross profitability and reports weekly on progress to target.
  • Audits and verifies cost of sales for parts and equipment against revenue to ensure gross margins are being maximized.
  • Ensure all customer information, requests and details of their vehicle problems are entered in the shop management software (MaxxTraxx).
  • Upsell needed maintenance and repairs and document authorization in shop management system (MaxxTraxx).
  • Works with Shop Service Manager to optimize profitability through schedule management of repair orders and garage capacity.
  • Working with Director of Business Affairs, assists in developing and coordinate execution of marketing plan with ONE Marketing department to generate new business.
  • Collaborates with other Nation departments to cross-promote Car Care services to guests, customers and employees.
  • Directly interfaces with customers to responsibly maximize customer intimacy and profitability.
  • Analyzes and optimizes preventative maintenance program for Nation fleet vehicles.
  • Audits and verifies labor hour reporting against revenue to ensure billable hours align with repair orders.
  • Manage sublet labor jobs and sublet labor vendor relationship; analyzes sublet labor purchases and audit sublet invoices to ensure all work is billed out correctly.
  • Makes operating and capital recommendations for improving the business operation.
  • Develops and manages Car Care Operating Budget.
  • Reviews and approves fleet maintenance repairs within signing authority.
  • Works with other Nation departments (Finance, IT, Legal) as needed.
  • Ensure the shop and shop employees maintain a clean, professional appearance.

Job Requirements

  • 8 years’ experience as a Service Manager in vehicle repair shop or dealership
  • Experience using MaxxTraxx shop management system or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service skills. 
  • Must have solid understanding of car repair/mechanic principles.


    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, kneel, climb, crawl and reach above the shoulder.
  • Repetitive use of the hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling i.e. small automotive tools etc.
  • Acute speech, vision, hearing and sense of touch and smell required.
  • Must have the ability to continuously lift up 35 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally over    100 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors under conditions ranging from extreme hot to extreme  cold.
  • Must be able to work around mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards.
