Business Affairs Project Manager

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Effectively manages executive-level projects at the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, under the supervision of the Director of Business Affairs.
  • Ensures projects are managed to delivery schedules, budget schedules and that all pertinent project updates and information are promptly communicated to the Director, who is ultimately responsible for project execution. Possesses the ability to identify issues that require executive-level input for resolution and promptly communicates those issues to the Director. 
  • Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of project communications. Communicates and interacts with Executive/Senior Management and Project Team members on status of specific projects.
  • Attends all project meetings and is responsible for documenting, circulating and following up on all project action items on a weekly basis; coordinates and facilitates project break-out meetings as needed. Responsible for knowing project status at all times and providing written updates and de-briefings to the Director upon request.
  • Prepares agendas for project-related meetings and circulates in advance to ensure all meetings are productive.  Responsible for all completing project-related action items for which the Business Affairs department is responsible, as assigned by the Director. 
  • Assists the Director in developing project plans, goals, and budget with input from subject matter experts, identifying internal and third-party resources needed and coordinates project involvement across multiple departments for enterprise-level projects.
  • Exhibits a strong business acumen, possessing the ability to manage projects with a responsible, business-minded approach.
  • Under the Director’s supervision, organizes and manages all phases of the project life cycle, taking ownership of the project in developing a comprehensive understanding of the project’s underlying goals and desired outcomes, while demonstrating an ability to identify what tasks need to be completed and in what order.
  • Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and manage several different projects at any given time; demonstrates excellent time management skills.  Works quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Works closely with other members of the Business Affairs department to coordinate projects specific planning and execution.
  • Responsible for reviewing and verifying all project-related invoices, proposals and contracts.  Drafts scope documents and helps prepare project-related RFP’s as needed.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and 3-5 years’ experience leading projects in a corporate environment.  Master’s in Business Administration preferred.
  • Has proven experience analyzing problems, interpreting operational needs, and developing integrated creative solutions.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates proven interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be experienced with developing and maintaining working relationships with Business Clients, Consultants, Vendors and Executive Management. Demonstrated leadership skills at directing project teams and/or subordinates are required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects.
