Job Description

Summary:  Assigns tasks and supervises the Oneida Indian Nation Gaming Commission Inspectors unit.  Acts as the liaison between the Inspectors unit and the Executive Director and Gaming Commission.  Protects the assets of the Oneida Nation, Casino property patrons and employees.  Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director; monitors and enforces the Nation/State Gaming Compact, National Indian Gaming Commissions Minimum Internal Controls, The Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and the Audit Departments Internal Accounting Control Procedures.
  • Investigates cheating and patron complaints; arbitrates disputes involving gaming activities, ensures regulatory compliance of licensed employees.
  • Manages and supervised the Inspectors Division personnel including hiring, scheduling, training and evaluating performance.
  • Develops measurable performance expectations for assigned staff according to department goals and objectives.
  • Assists in the development, revisions and enforcement of department operating procedures and policies.
  • Assists the department in ensuring compliance with all Tribal, State and Federal laws, rules and regulations.
  • Ensures accurate reporting and logging of Inspectors daily assignments and activities.
  • Reports any violations of the policies and procedures by Inspector Personnel.
  • Submits weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Maintains strong communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
  • Performs and completes other related tasks and duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Accounting, or other related field;  OR
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional level work experience in gaming or applicable field;  OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and professional level work experience.  Gaming experience should include areas of supervision and/or management.
  • Candidate must complete a Class III gaming application, undergo fingerprinting and successfully pass a thorough background investigation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.


Position Physical Requirements:

  • Fine manipulation of the hands for continuous use of the computer and frequent use of copier and telephone.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach above the shoulder.
  • Repetitive use of the hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and/or typing.
  • Must have the ability to occasionally lift up 10 lb. using proper lifting techniques.
