Financial Mgmt & Reporting
This position will support, through analysis and balancing activities, the general ledger and financial system functions. This position's primary focus will be associated with the general ledger process and the need to maintain the integrity of the underlying general ledger information. This encompasses, in part, (i) the preparation of the quarterly foreign exchange calculation, (ii) the preparation and reconciliation of DAC commission and expense activity and balances, (iii) a review of the accuracy and timeliness of hundreds of general ledger upload files prepared by other FMR departments and the upload of such files into the ledger and (iv) the accuracy of intercompany non-technical transactions.
Coordinate quarterly closing activities impacting the general ledger process.
Develop the quarterly commission DAC and expense DAC schedules; these tasks include the review of data for completeness and accuracy as well as performing any required analysis.
Analysis, research and resolution of technical processes impacting the proper recording of Foreign Exchange (FX) under all three accounting bases. This entails understanding complex system based calculations as well as interacting with various other departments in resolving questions or issues associated with the foreign exchange general ledger entries.
Ensure that all non-technical intercompany underwriting data properly eliminates at all subassignment levels for compliance with ECON reporting. Encompasses all bases of accounting and all non-technical accounts. Requires coordination with various personnel in the MR U.S. Group entities as well as in various international MR Group operations.
Reconcile non-technical intercompany activity and prepare ECON upload for version 160.
Analyze assigned general ledger account variances on an ongoing basis and research material fluctuations seeking to understand unusual balances and work with other departments to resolve problems should any issues arise.
Prepare, balance and upload on a quarterly basis the Consolidation of Investments in ECON (version 161).
Perform General Ledger account analysis. Review suspense/clearing accounts.
Review manual journal entries for compliance to the Journal Entry Policy.
Process Manual Journal Entries into the SAP Global Template.
Monthly, prepare company balance reconciliation schedules for MRAM and CCTR companies. Also, the monthly completion of the Company Balance reconciliations for MRAM and GLUK.
Create necessary documentation for new account requests and submit to Global Template Helpdesk.
As system issues and enhancements arise, complete Change Request forms and submit to proper team for approval and development.
Completion of Underwriting and Investment Exhibit for the Statutory Annual Statement for MRAm, AAIC and PESLIC as well as other regulatory reports (e.g., Bests and S&P requirements).
A four year degree in accounting or related field required.
Quick learner and strong problem solving skills.
Strong communication and analytical skills.
Four plus years of financial accounting or reporting. General ledger and SAP system experience preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
