JOB DESCRIPTION:
Principal Duties and Responsibilities 
1. Participates in the development of all department objectives, standards of care, quality assurance standards, and clinical policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge of JCAHO and DPH standards and assists all departments with compliance with said standards. 2. Provides guidance to managers as it relates to quality of care on a short- and long-term basis and works with all department managers to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. 3. Oversees continuing education of clinical staff through collaboration with managers in assessing the clinical needs and securing the appropriate professionals to conduct inservices that use continuous improvement concepts. 4. Oversees the Infection Control Program maintained by the Quality Assurance Nurse. 5. Oversees and manages the Home Care Medical Records Department.. 6. Oversees and manages the Insurance and Medicare Case Managers. 7. Provides education and expertise regarding Medicare PPS to clinical staff and fiscal department. 8. Participates in the orientation of all clinical staff regarding documentation and reimbursement standards and guidelines.. 9. Develops standards of care that reflect measurable outcomes while conducting acuity studies, diagnostic studies, and case-mix utilization data system. 10. Seeks to maintain open communication between clinical staff, referral sources, patients and families. 11. Collaborates with fiscal personnel to ensure high-quality standards are maintained and claims coverage is guaranteed; also functions as staff liaison to fiscal intermediary regarding appeals of denials of coverage. 12. Represents the department through participation in community professional organizations. 13. Assists in the valuation of the department’s image both internally and externally, (including coordinating the communities outreach program) 14. Participates in annual budget development as it relates to areas of responsibility. 15. Oversees all clinical audits, surveys, and departmental accreditation. 16. Facilitates Professional Advisory Operation (PAG) Meetings. 17. Performs all duties of the Executive Director in her absence. 18. Director of CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments)


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Arts in Nursing, MS preferred. 2. Three years of community health experience. 3. Two years of supervisory quality assurance experience. 4. Proof of current Massachusetts nursing license. 5. Valid driver's license and available transportation. 6. Excellent written and oral communication skills. MNST
