FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANLSYS MANAGER

Position Summary:

 

This position is responsible for leading the Financial Planning and Analysis department in performing many functions including, but not limited to, various financial modeling, daily, monthly, and long-term forecasting, variance analyses, operating budget development, labor analyses, monthly reporting and return on investment analyses for various projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

 

  • Supervises various financial modeling projects associated with development or capital investment opportunities to calculate the financial return on investment and feasibility
  • Reviews all standard monthly reporting of operational results including, but not limited to, Northeast Slot Report, Casino Slot Report, Table Games Report and the Report on Operations
  • Meets with senior management on operational trends to alert them of changes and makes suggestions on corrective actions or potential opportunities
  • Develops the Fiscal Operating Budget working with every functional area of the operation
  • Performs labor analyses with the use of key volume indicators to ensure proper staffing to maximize customer service levels while ensuring profitability

 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the statistical journal entry on a monthly basis
  • Performs ad hoc analyses based on operational trends, economic trends or competitive developments, when necessary

Training Requirements:

 

  • Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
  • Must complete the Core Manager training program
  • Knowledgeable in budget planning and analysis process and procedures
  • Knowledgeable in purchase request review and approval process procedures

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 

  • Office work environment
  • Must sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a related field
  • Diversified casino background that can encompass many different areas and knows the financial implications of all operating decisions
  • Must have at least three years of analytical experience in a high volume, complex casino environment
  • Must possess exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Workday Adaptive Planning, Cognos Analytics, Prophix, Snowflake, SQL experience preferred
