JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Security and Guest Services provides leadership, direction, and management for the daily security and guest experience operations for Las Vegas Arena and Toshiba Plaza. The position is responsible for implementing, maintaining and updating security and guest service policies, programs and procedures designed to protect the physical assets of the Arena while providing an enjoyable, safe, and secure environment for all guests, tenants, employees, vendors and contractors. The Director of Security and Guest Services ensures all activities performed within the reporting departments are in accordance with the company's business objectives, budget guidelines, mission statement, and core service standards.
Develop and execute global security and guest service initiatives and operations including developing, maintaining, and overseeing the operation of security tools, processes, and policies to defend, detect, and respond to threats, vulnerabilities, and attacks targeting the company.
Provides leadership and direction in the execution and measurement of guest service standards within the reporting areas in the Arena consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes to ensure continued growth and profitability.
Provides leadership and operational direction for the Security and Guest Service department for daily operations and event specific requirements in collaboration with event producers and security staff.
Liaise with tour promoters, security directors, and meeting planners for the coordination of all Front of House including but not limited to: security, medical, ushers, ticket-takers, greeters and staff.
Develop, coordinate, and implement policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard the company and ensure security, safety and enjoyment of clients, guests and employees on a daily and event basis.
Provide cross-functional leadership of security operations activities including vulnerability mitigation, incident response, and risk assessments.
Responsible for championing awareness, influencing compliance with security and safety policies, and providing solutions for business specific security issues; ensure compliance with safety regulatory organizations including OSHA, Health Districts, Fire Departments, Building Departments, Environmental Protection, and Insurance Carriers.
Establish positive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including MRI Corporate security, MRI resort properties, local, state, & federal fire, police authorities and international authorities.
Oversees the Safety Committee including monthly meetings, safety walk-throughs, follow-up and training.
Ensures all reporting areas policies, procedures, and practices are consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes.
Performs all other job related duties as requested.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
At least 10 years as a high level Security professional.
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of management, promoters, suppliers, guests and visitors.
Ability to build strong working relationships with local fire and police departments and other government entities.
Ability to provide training and directions to new hires in the department.
Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of safety practices, including first aid and all applicable safety standards for public facilities.
Working knowledge of the functions, operations, and equipment of a multi-purpose entertainment complex.
Working knowledge of and compliance with Federal and State OSHA regulations.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to lead and mentor a team.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
CPR / AED / First Aid certified.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Preferred:
At least 5 years of experience in a managerial capacity in arena/event operations and/or in a similar resort setting.
Previous experience with or knowledge of Nevada laws and legal codes, court procedures, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
Ability to provide training and directions to new hires in the department.
Thorough knowledge of CCTV, fire alarm systems, computerized access control systems, and wireless radio communication.
Bachelor Degree from an accredited college/university.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
