Assistant Shift Manager - Security

Assesses the performance levels of subordinates and make appropriate suggestions, if needed to bring the performance up to the required standard.
Motivate and train Security Supervisors and keep track of all training records on the shift.
Coordinate any operations that are not completed with the outgoing shift
Verify shift personnel are clocked in and ready to work and clocked out at the end of the shift.
Verify the key and radio logs at the beginning of the shift.
Read and respond to all emails prior to the beginning of the shift.
Delegate responsibilities to Shift Supervisors as needed.
Confirm Security Supervisors are completing their projects.
Assist with reviewing all reports prior to the end of shift.
Teach in the new hire training classes when needed.
Perform the functions of the Security Shift Manager when needed.
Brief the Security Shift Manager on all information provided by the Security Supervisors and Security Officers.
Responsible for creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
Assist with assigned operational functions within the department consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division, and MGM Grand.
Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts and other departments.
Must be able to complete daily schedules of Officers assignments.
Performs other related duties as necessary.
At least 2 years of experience as a Security Officer.
At least 1 year of experience as a Security Supervisor.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to lead & mentor a team.
Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
