Maintains detailed knowledge of menu items as well as wine lists served including ingredients, preparation, and sourcing.
Adheres to all responsible alcohol serving requirements as dictated by the state; requests identification from guest ordering alcohol when legal age is questionable.
Monitors accuracy of orders and overall dining experience.
Adheres to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements as dictated by the state. Follows up with diners at critical points during the meal. Assumes ultimate responsibility of guest satisfaction while dining.
Maintains cleanliness of work area. Keeps tables neat and orderly by removing dishware no longer in use. Assists in bussing of tables and resetting tables for next seating.
Communicates to host person when leaving assigned workstation. Checks out with host person or manager on duty before leaving and signs out on host log sheet.
Completes side work as posted.
Notifies manager on duty of any guests concerns.
Attends training sessions and retains knowledge covered therein.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
At least 3 years of experience as a Front Waiter or Back Waiter in a fine dining establishment.
Good working knowledge of all restaurant functions.
Working knowledge of tableside service.
Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service techniques is required.
Excellent interpersonal service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Manage multiple tasks and remain calm in very high paced and stressful environment and work under pressure.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other employees of the organization.
Able to work in close quarters or small rooms and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid conditions. Work environmental factors include noise, dust, and smoke.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Experience in large and heavy tray handling.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
