JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Leads the development and maintenance of an Enterprise Data Model and Enterprise Taxonomies.
  • Contributes to data technology architecture, data integration architecture, data warehouse architecture, meta data architecture, and alignment with business and application architectures.
  • Conducts data design work sessions to gather, analyze, and validate information requirements from relevant subject matter experts for assigned projects.
  • Designs appropriate data structures, physical databases, and data access services based on business needs and requirements.
  • Develops data-related documentation, including conceptual/logical/physical data models, data transformation specifications, data quality rules and standards, meta data content, test & use cases, data flow diagrams, data dictionary elements, data lifecycle descriptions, and other relevant materials as directed.
  • Leads the development of a semantic layer to facilitate appropriate business access and use of data across enterprise data repositories.
  • Develops and reviews data management policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of an overall data management strategy and relevant roadmaps.
  • Maintain currency in data management disciplines to ensure skills are not outdated.
  • Develops project-specific data management strategies and approaches.
  • Performs as a data expert within the Information Management centered around information as the company’s competitive advantage.
  • Participates in the testing of data-related project deliverables to verify alignment with requirements and designs.
  • Investigates and resolves data related issues.
  • Coordinates data governance activities with data owners and key business stakeholders.
  • Attends and may be asked to lead data workshops designed to train and cross-train relevant business and IT staff in data management best practices.
  • Streamlines and enhances the data lifecycle to ensure build, testing, production implementations, maintenance activities and reporting are effective, efficient, standardized, coordinated and integrated.
  • Ensures the collection and analysis of metrics to justify business initiatives and to help facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Coordinates with the Technical Compliance Manager and Information Security to ensure that data designs comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required:  

  • At least 4 years of prior data modeling experience.
  • Specialized data platform experience, including:
    • Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Transact-SQL, IBM DB2, Sybase or Oracle.
    • Logical and physical data modeling.
    • ERWIN or other Relational Modeling tools.
    • Model repository management.
    • Microsoft Windows 2000/2003/2008/2010.
    • SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services.
    • DataStage  or other ETL tools.
    • DataFlux Master Data Management.
    • Teradata or other data warehousing.
    • Relational database concepts
    • Data storage concepts.
    • OLAP Technology.
    • Writing SQL stored procedures and triggers.
    • Cognos Impromptu.
    • TIBCO Spotfire.
    • Metadata management.
    • Data replication concepts and tools.
    • Enterprisedata model creation and maintenance.
    • Data dictionary creation and maintenance.
    • Data quality and cleansing tools.
    • N-tier client server applications development.
    • Experience with Tandem, AS400, or Unix.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
