JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Greet and converse with guests to suggest or receive cocktail order
  • Prepare and serve cocktails to customers following hotel guidelines
  • Clean and organize bar to beverage department standards
  • Prepare order to replenish stock at bar to pre-determined par levels
  • Provide exceptional service to customers

  • Follow departmental cash handling policies and procedures
  • Prepare cocktails for cocktail server
  • Maintain high standards of service
  • Maintain bar cleanliness and polish glassware
  • Receive cocktail orders and deliver to hi limit slots or Gaming tables
  • Clean and organize work station to beverage and health department standards
  • Be able to perform a task that requires standing and/or moving at a fast pace for periods of up to eight hours or longer
  • Knowledge of wine and champagne service at table games
  • Work station must be maintained and left stocked and cleaned for next shifts
  • Garnish all drinks
  • Ensure correct health and sanitation practices are followed
  • Ensure the correct glassware/stemware is used according to Beverage Department standards
  • Greet each guest with a smile
  • Acknowledge every guest with a prompt and friendly greeting
  • Answer questions property related, correctly and professionally
  • Ability to handle multi tasks
  • Handling of cash, credit cards and room charges
  • Ability to work all shifts - require 100% flexibility
  • Ability to work scheduled special events which may require double shifts
  • Check ID's if the guest appears to be under 30
  • Replace dirty ashtrays by capping off ashtrays with a clean ashtray
  • React to the needs of management for special host requests
  • Inform management of any problems or concerns
  • Communicate with Management to keep them informed of all special requests from a guest, never tell a guest we don't have something; call a manager first
  • Answer telephone using proper telephone etiquette standards
  • Complete all side work duties
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
  • At least 1 year experience in a high-volume hotel / restaurant.
  • Have documentation of successful completion of the Bartenders Local 165 Joint Apprenticeship Training Program and have passed the craft exam related to the program
  • Knowledge of ABC laws.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 

Preferred: 

  •  Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
