JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Perform interior plant maintenance which may include: watering with Tanks-a-Lot, cleaning, installing, fertilizing, pruning, pinching, trimming, dead-heading, and replacement
  • Monitor plant nutrition by checking soil, fertilizer, moisture, and overall appearance
  • Monitor Integrated Pest Management System (IPM) and use proper control methods
  • Install and maintain proper mechanics in interior planters
  • ·Inspect area daily to ensure the condition of interior landscape meets appearance standards
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment for all interior plants
  • Remove and dispose of litter found in planters
  • Inspect work area to identify any potential safety hazards and follow all safety, corporate, and department policies
  • Use a variety of manual hand tools and equipment to complete tasks
  • Drive/Operate company vehicles to travel on and off property
  • Operate motorized equipment such as aerial lift, forklifts, Tugs, reach trucks, etc.
  • Ensure proper care and safe use of equipment and supplies and report lost or damaged equipment and tools
  • Attend required training classes
  • Use two-way radio to communicate while in field
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all public and common work areas
  • Complete daily work sheets and turn in at end of shift
  • Complete and submit plant and supply orders
  • Train new employees in job related duties
  • Work various special projects and seasonal change outs in the retail area
  • Unload truck and inspect plants as they are received
  • Other related duties as necessary

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
  • At least 3 years experience in interior plant maintenance.
  • At least 2 years previous experience with hotel plant maintenance.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 
 
Preferred:
  • Horticulture education with college courses and/or seminars.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
