JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Inspect and maintain wide variety of theatrical lighting fixtures, lighting consoles, projectors, media servers and special effects equipment and systems.
  • Work with the Technical Manager and teams at the shows to conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs as directed for the safe and continued operation of the shows.
  • Work with the Technical Manager and teams at the shows to create, conduct and maintain all inspection, maintenance and other required documentation for the safe and continued show operation.
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsal/training, maintenance and the possibility of evening show performances.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all lighting equipment specific to the productions in order to operate and maintain mechanized and manual lighting equipment safely.
  • Participate in special projects including the construction and installation of show lighting systems.
  • Identify defects or breakage and report them to the lighting Supervisor on site.
  • Use fall protection harness and perform basic rigging functions.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
  • At least 3 years of experience as a professional lighting technician.
  • Field experience with repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics of a wide variety of theatrical lighting fixtures, lighting consoles, projectors, media servers and special effects equipment
  • Strong background in electronics and electricity.
  • Experience in large production lighting systems operation, maintenance and repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance and repair of automated lighting fixtures.
  • Working knowledge of the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of the following:
    • Automated Lighting Fixtures
    • Projection Systems (Projectors, LED & Media Servers)
    • Industrial Power Distribution
    • Dimming Systems
    • Ethernet based lighting and projection control distribution systems
    • Special Effects Equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs for stage and facilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with general construction techniques as related to facility repairs and new construction.
  • Formal fall protection and overall safety training.
  • Knowledge of and experience with basic rigging techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsal/training, maintenance and the possibility of evening show performances.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms.
Preferred:
  • ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician.
  • Certification in Aerial Work Platform and Forklifts.
  • Computer knowledge of MS Office programs, database and CAD experience.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
