Strips, finishes, high-speed burnishes, spray buffs, neutral cleans, restores, etc. all floor surfaces as necessary and/or assigned. Performs all cleaning, restoration and shampooing of all floors assigned.
Exercises care in the use of cleaning supplies, methods, and equipment, while following all safety guidelines.
Reports needed maintenance and safety hazards in assigned areas to supervisor.
Contains and cleans hazardous materials covered under the Code Blue specifications.
Conforms to all Hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
Works indoors and outdoors and is exposed to environmental factors such as excessive noise, seasonal heat and cold, hard to reach and unclean work areas.
Exposed to cigarette smoke, hazardous materials and equipment.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
At least 6 months experience as a specialist/utility porter and/or training from the Culinary Training Center.
Working knowledge of and experience with professional floor care equipment used (buffer, extractor, high lift), knowledge of various floor surfaces (wood, marble) and the processes required for maintaining them.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
