Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency,
Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant, all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes,
Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish and method of presentation.
Take guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
Serve all food courses and beverage items to the guest.
Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
Guide guests through all phases of their experience at the restaurant.
Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the room management.
Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
Effectively communicate with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities, to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Maintain complete knowledge of POS and manual systems.
Complete opening side duties as assigned.
Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by Kitchen.
Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to Kitchen.
Guide the activities of the assigned Busperson to ensure optimum service to guests.
Clear each course.
Remove soiled wares from tables as assigned and transport to dish washing area.
Present guest checks and process payments through the Cashier.
Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
Extend appreciation for guests’ patronage and invite them to return.
Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
Complete closing side duties as assigned.
Preform other job related duties as assigned.
At least 2 years of experience as a server in a similar, high-volume restaurant environment.
Excellent knowledge of food and wine and able to confidently speak on and properly serve such items.
Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators/coolers, slicers, beverage machines.
Working knowledge of food and wine and confidently speak on and properly serve such items.
Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working knowledge of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
