  • Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency,
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the restaurant, all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes,
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, garnish and method of presentation.
  • Take guests' food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques.
  • Serve all food courses and beverage items to the guest.
  • Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
  • Guide guests through all phases of their experience at the restaurant.
  • Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the room management.
  • Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
  • Effectively communicate with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities, to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of POS and manual systems.
  • Complete opening side duties as assigned.
  • Input order into system and ensure transmission of food orders is verified by Kitchen.
  • Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute food orders to Kitchen.
  • Guide the activities of the assigned Busperson to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Clear each course.
  • Remove soiled wares from tables as assigned and transport to dish washing area.
  • Present guest checks and process payments through the Cashier.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
  • Extend appreciation for guests’ patronage and invite them to return.
  • Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
  • Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
  • Complete closing side duties as assigned.
  • Preform other job related duties as assigned.



  • At least 2 years of experience as a server in a similar, high-volume restaurant environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of food and wine and able to confidently speak on and properly serve such items.
  • Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators/coolers, slicers, beverage machines.
  • Working knowledge of food and wine and confidently speak on and properly serve such items.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures 
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 


  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
