  • Supervise the staff of all assigned floors and ensure all rooms and work areas are cleaned and maintained to company standards.
  • Ensure all staff members adhere to company and housekeeping policies.
  • Maintain the integrity of the room inspection program for Guest Room Attendants, Floor Supervisors, and Assistant Executive Housekeepers.
  • Provide the direction for a positive, empowering work environment by setting the example and consistency of day to day work habits.
  • Work closely with the Status Board Operators and Scheduling clerks to ensure guests receive clean rooms in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records and submit work orders including repairs needed, lost and found items, and quality of work completed by employees.
  • Establish a good work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Department affairs.
  • Provide input into and execute strategic plan consistent with the annual business/marketing plan as submitted to the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Contribute to short term and long term profitability for the property.
  • Participate in the research and development of the forecast, marketing, and promotional programs.
  • Maintain the global strategic plan consistent with the vision of the property.
  • Stay current, knowledgeable, and abreast of the latest in industry equipment, technology, and techniques.
  • Monitor the issuance of supplies for the floor, responsible for the overall usage of products as directed by the budget.
  • Responsible for all requests made by Front Desk and Executive Requests.
  • Instruct employees and new hires on the products used for cleaning in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) chemical Right to Know standards.
  • Perform and submit required number of hallway evaluations to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
  • Calls-in/Enter status of all rooms, work orders, and carpets to be shampooed.
  • Utilize proper procedures for entering/cleaning a guest room.
  • Monitor the time clock when clocking employees in and out.
  • Complete daily worksheets accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Issue and retrieve all master keys, beepers, and two-way radios at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Maintain the integrity of the guest room inspection program on a regular basis.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures, prepare justification for budget variations, and projected increases for new projects.
  • Evaluate staffing levels in accordance with business demand, providing recommendations for adjustments whenever possible and monitor compliance of full time equivalents (FTEs) per department policy.
  • Respond to and resolve guest and/or employee complaints in a timely manner and creatively solve problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties.
  • Analyze data and reports generated by the property and company to ensure proper execution of services.
  • Monitor, document, and notify the Assistant Executive Housekeeper of any problems that may impact or jeopardize the achievement of current and future departmental objectives.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.



  • At least 1 year housekeeping experience.
  • Previous experience supervising other employees.
  • Have working knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies, and chemicals.
  • Ability to analyze budgets, overtime reports, FTE reports and financial reports.
  • Ability to understand process development.
  • Ability to develop and present department action plans.
  • Ability to create, manage and balance departmental budgets.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook?
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 


  • Familiarity with Green Initiatives and/or LEED programs.
  • Previous experience managing employees using a Collective Bargaining Agreement. 
  • Bi-lingual.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
