Greets guests, presents menus, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and beverages.
Actively takes orders, gives enticing suggestions, conducts full and complete food/wine/beverage service, and monitors guests’ dining experience.
Maintains detailed knowledge of menu items, as well as wine lists, including ingredients, preparation, and sourcing.
Rings orders into Micros system, and ensures delivery of all items ordered.
Presents the check and receives payment.
Processes transactions of credit cards, gift cards, gift certificates, house accounts, cash and traveler’s checks.
Adheres to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements as dictated by the state.
Follows up with diners at critical points during the meal. Assumes ultimate responsibility of guest satisfaction while dining.
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Keeps tables neat and orderly by removing dishware no longer in use.
Assists in bussing of tables and resetting tables for next seating.
Communicates to host person when leaving assigned workstation.
Checks out with host person or manager on duty before leaving and signs out on host log sheet.
Completes side work as posted.
Notifies manager on duty of any guests concerns.
Attends training sessions and retains knowledge covered therein.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
At least 1 year of experience as a Food Server in a similar establishment.
Possess a good working knowledge of all restaurant functions, and working knowledge of tableside service.
Able to carry large and heavy trays.
Able to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in very high paced and stressful environment and work under pressure.
Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests and other employees of the organization.
Physical ability to access all areas of the restaurant, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items.
Work in close quarters or small rooms and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid condition. Work environmental factors include noise, dust, and smoke.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to MGM Resorts International standards.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
