JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Actively solicit and book business following Hotel standards.
  • Ensure that all definite functions are detailed accurately on contracts, signed by clients and distributed to designated departments on a timely basis.
  • Inspect table set-ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement with group requirements and departmental standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
  • Greet guests upon arrival at function and assist in seating as required by group in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Works as a liaison between the client, restaurant and F&B Management by communicating the group’s needs to all departments.
  • Service clients of short-term bookings from Group Sales.
  • Obtain client requirements to execute catering contract.
  • Obtain necessary deposits, payments and signatures on all contracts, policies and event orders.
  • Effectively book all private dining facilities.
  • Order outside services for events.
  • Respond to new business inquiries.
  • Available to be present at various functions ensure all special events offered are up to prescribed standards.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Vice President Food &Beverage, Director Food & Beverage, Director Restaurants and Executive Chef Food & Beverage.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Check on all ongoing events, staffing, reviewing changes and last-minute updates.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Review special event checks with restaurant from previous day's functions; ensure accuracy of charges and presence of guest signature.
  • Establish and monitor the file and trace system.
  • Ensure client files are kept organized and current with all required information.
  • Meet with clients to work out the details of their functions, escorting clients through the property and highlight features of facility as well as available services.
  • Suggestively sell menus which meet the client's needs and maximize revenues
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • At least 3 years of experience in special events sales.
  • At least 4 or more years of experience in Food and Beverage operations.
  • At least 3 years of banquet set-up experience and banquet equipment requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills, to be able to function under time constraints, and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of menu development.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
  • Familiarity with sales and marketing tools.
  • Effective listening abilities and be able to make strong judgment calls.
  • Familiarity with all health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lead and mentor a team.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 

Preferred:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of several POS systems and operations.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
