Job Title:   Maintenance Engineer

  • Performs routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems throughout the property.
  • Recognizes equipment that needs repairs, adjustments, or replacement.
  • Responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned. 
  • Maintains equipment and logbooks.
  • Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat and orderly at all times.
  • Keeps informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
  • Advises Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property.
  • Performs assigned duties during emergencies.
  • Performs other related duties and assists other trades as requested.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

  • At least 2 years experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a hotel or industrial complex property.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Extensive knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of facilities equipment, perception and awareness of the Hotel’s maintenance goals and policies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both in person and over the phone when dealing with management, employees, and guests.
  • Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
  • General knowledge of mathematical skills such as; addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching to perform job duties.
  • Able to climb ladders onto raised areas and be able to work from scaffolding.
  • Capable of operating skyjack, forklift, scissor lift, or other heavy equipment.
  • Wear a tool belt.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
