JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Assist Butler in serving meals, snacks, tea, hors d’ oeuvres, cocktails and other food and beverage items in villas and/or cleaning up after meals.
  • Remain immediately available during assigned shift to respond to guests’ needs.
  • Maintain Butler’s pantry and all other assigned areas in a neat and serviceable condition.
  • Guide guests through all phases of their experience at the Villas and Baccarat areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock of their assigned areas, side stations, tables and POS stations.
  • Assist Butlers in delivering timely and complete services to the guests.
  • Assist in the arrangement of personal services, such as haircutting and styling, manicure, massage, etc. for Villa guests.
  • Set up orders, deliver these orders to the Butler assigned and maintain a clean working area in the kitchen.
  • Report any deficiencies or safety hazards to Supervisor and coordinate corrective action.
  • Detect flaws relating to service standards, and make corrections prior to service delivery.
  • Assist Butlers in anticipating guest’s needs regarding butler services and is supportive and proactive in lending team support.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all guests and business practices.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
  • Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome.
  • Consistently follow sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by the Villa management.
  • Itemize bills correctly.
  • Bid farewell to guests, using guest’s name when known, and encourage them to return.
  • Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
  • Effectively communicate with management, other departments, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures and standards.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of: all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available, the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list and guest room layout, locations and room numbers/names.
  • Inspect table set-ups; check for cleanliness, neatness and agreement with guest's order and departmental standards.
  • Check the status of all orders and ensure that they are delivered within designated timelines.
  • Check bar set-ups, buffet/reception tables and coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness and layout; ensure agreement with function order and department standards; ensuring replenishment of items as specified and requested by group contact.
  • Organize, coordinate and direct staff in set-up, delivery and retrieval of amenities in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Other related duties as necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Required: 

  • At least 2 years of experience as a server in a fine dining establishment.
  • At least 2 years of wine and beverage service experience.
  • Working knowledge of formal table service.
  • Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to use standard kitchen equipment, including, but not limited to toasters, refrigerators/coolers, slicers, beverage machines.
  • Ability to manage the care of guest wardrobes.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with POS systems.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.

 Preferred:

  • Fluency in another language along with awareness of non –American customs and cultures.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
