Follows the methods of food preparation and baking to ensure baked goods are prepared in manner prescribed by the Pastry Chef.
Sets up workstation based on pars established by Pastry Chef and by following station set-up sheets.
Tests baked goods by tasting and smelling them.
Complies with occupational, health and safety standards. Ensures baked goods are stored and kept at proper holding temperatures, through the use of thermometers.
Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Completes all closing requirements as directed by Pastry Chef.
Preform other job related duties as assigned.
At least 2 years of experience in a full service pastry shop. Skills subject to evaluation.
Have a working knowledge of fundamental and intermediate baking techniques.
Possess excellent interpersonal service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in very high paced and stressful environment.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Physical ability to access all areas of the restaurant, withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying items.
Work in close quarters or small rooms and is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and/or humid condition. Work environmental factors include noise, dust, and smoke.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to understand units of measurement, basic math skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
