Greets guests, presents menus, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and beverages.
Actively takes orders, gives enticing suggestions, conducts full and complete food/wine/beverage service, and monitors guests; dining experience.
Maintains detailed knowledge of menu items, as well as wine lists, including ingredients, preparation, and sourcing.
Rings orders into Infogenesis system and ensures delivery of all items ordered.
Presents the check and receives payment.
Processes transactions of credit cards, gift cards, gift certificates, house accounts, cash and travelers checks.
Adheres to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements as dictated by the state.
Follows up with diners at critical points during the meal.
Assumes ultimate responsibility of guest satisfaction while dining.
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
Keeps tables neat and orderly by removing dishware no longer in use.
Assists in bussing of tables and resetting tables for next seating.
Communicates to host person when leaving assigned workstation.
Checks out with host person or manager on duty before leaving and signs out on log sheet.
Completes side work as posted.
Notifies manager on duty of any guests concerns.
Attends training sessions and retains knowledge covered therein.
Performs other job related duties as required.
At least 2 years of experience as a Front Waiter or Back Waiter in a fine dining establishment.
Have a good working knowledge of all restaurant functions.
Have a working knowledge of tableside service and knowledge of wine and wine service techniques.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Experience in large and heavy tray handling.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
