  • Greets guests, presents menus, answers questions and makes suggestions regarding food and beverages.
  • Actively takes orders, gives enticing suggestions, conducts full and complete food/wine/beverage service, and monitors guests; dining experience.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of menu items, as well as wine lists, including ingredients, preparation, and sourcing.
  • Rings orders into Infogenesis system and ensures delivery of all items ordered.
  • Presents the check and receives payment.
  • Processes transactions of credit cards, gift cards, gift certificates, house accounts, cash and travelers checks.
  • Adheres to all responsible alcohol consumption requirements as dictated by the state. 
  • Follows up with diners at critical points during the meal.
  • Assumes ultimate responsibility of guest satisfaction while dining.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area. 
  • Keeps tables neat and orderly by removing dishware no longer in use.
  • Assists in bussing of tables and resetting tables for next seating.
  • Communicates to host person when leaving assigned workstation.
  • Checks out with host person or manager on duty before leaving and signs out on log sheet.
  • Completes side work as posted.
  • Notifies manager on duty of any guests concerns.
  • Attends training sessions and retains knowledge covered therein. 
  • Performs other job related duties as required. 



  • At least 2 years of experience as a Front Waiter or Back Waiter in a fine dining establishment.
  • Have a good working knowledge of all restaurant functions.
  • Have a working knowledge of tableside service and knowledge of wine and wine service techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 


  • Experience in large and heavy tray handling.
  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
