Lighting Technician/Follow Spot Operator

Primarily one of four followspots required to run the show
Preserve the on-going; long-term “opening night” quality, the lighting designer’s vision, and the artistic integrity of the production according to the needs of artistic, technical and company management
With the Head of Lighting coordinate special projects including the research, purchase and installation of specialty lighting related items both for show applications and for electrical needs of the showroom and other stage departments as required
Work closely with the Head of Lighting, Artistic Directors and Stage Management in supporting their needs during rehearsals and performances
Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to ensure the on-going needs of the production
Under the direction of the Head of Lighting and technical management, ensure lighting department documentation is current and formally recorded to preserve the original intention of the designers, and utilize the inventory control database (TMA
and other provided software tools to track all preventative and reactive maintenance routines, as well as any other information pertinent to the security of the show’s run
Maintain a safe working environment by conforming to all established safety policies and procedures
Participate in required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training
Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance and evening show performances
Develop a thorough knowledge of Lighting Department equipment specific to the production in order to operate it safely
Learn and run other pertinent show tracks to ensure the safe and continued operation of Zumanity as required by the Head of Lighting and Technical Management
Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department
At least 2 years of experience with lighting equipment in a concert or theatre environment.
Operational knowledge of followspot equipment.
Familiarity with both Mac and windows computer operating environments.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
Knowledge of OSHA.
Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
