JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Performs routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems throughout the property.
  • Recognizes equipment that needs repairs, adjustments, or replacement.
  • Responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned. 
  • Maintains equipment and logbooks.
  • Ensures that all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat and orderly at all times.
  • Keeps informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
  • Advises Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property.
  • Performs assigned duties during emergencies.
  • Performs other related duties and assists other trades as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
  • At least 2 years experience as a Kitchen Engineer, preferably in a hotel or industrial complex property.
  • Ability to solder and thread pipe.
  • Extensive knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of facilities equipment to include kitchen equipment, gas, steam, electrical and plumbing.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of repair and preventative maintenance of facilities equipment, perception and awareness of the Hotel’s maintenance goals and policies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both in person and over the phone when dealing with management, employees, and guests.
  • Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, and other employees while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent customer services skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms
Preferred:
  • Journeyman Plumber & Electrical certificates
  • Previous experience working in a luxury or similar resort.
