JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the general guidance of the Cash Posting Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for providing financial and accounting support for the professional and management staff of the Revenue Cycle departments.  The focus of this position is on daily bank reconciliations involving complex cash transactions throughout Mercy Hospital, assistance in preparation of monthly financial reports and dashboards, project management and support for selected departmental initiatives.  The incumbent is highly accountable for work including handling of and access to highly sensitive confidential information.  Develops, coordinates, and executes systems for tracking and reporting on all revenue cycle tasks and activities.  The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position.  The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or GED is required.  Post-secondary education in accounting and computer applications and / or an Associate’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.  A minimum of three (3) years of progressively more responsible work experience in this or similar jobs required with specific cash posting and/or cash reconciliation experience strongly desired.   Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel knowledge, is required.  Experience in healthcare finance and/or non-profit environment is strongly desired.  May make routine decisions independently by identifying and resolving the problems; more complex problems are discussed and resolved with leadership input.  May explain department policies, procedures and practices exercising limited judgement.  Must possess the ability to manage projects and create the structure and systems to support them. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with other hospital personnel including medical staff and health professional affiliate staff as well as with external hospital contacts.
