JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Office Manager is responsible for directing a smooth outpatient operation on a day-to-day basis by working with the Lead Physician and Practice Manager. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle the information in accordance with hospital policy, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital. 


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education specific to an area of the healthcare field as well as three (3) to five (5) years progressive supervisory experience in an outpatient or physicians office environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Desirable Traits: Versatility and multi-task orientation.  Patience, strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, attention to detail and professionalism in dress and demeanor.  Must demonstrate judgement and initiative to operate during demanding situations.  Must be flexible with scheduling demands of the position.  Knowledge of basic computer skills required.
