Job Description



  • Purchase and maintain hotel/food & beverage/casino products at appropriate inventory levels or as required by department.
  • Provide specifications, bid sheets to vendors.
  • Insure quality is provided at the lowest possible price.
  • Take advantage of discounts and rebates. 
  • Scheduling of deliveries to avoid unnecessary freight charges or storage problems. 
  • Indirectly supervise, schedule and train general purchasing buyer, general receiving operations/personnel, secretary and file clerk.
  •  Maintain hourly employee files for purchasing and receiving personnel, process daily/weekly payroll and attend meetings on behalf of Director.
  • Ability to forecast, develop programs, issue annual bids and any other related function as required for issuing blanket purchase orders for supplies and services.
  • Coordinate and schedule items as needed for Project purchasing.
  • Knowledge of all departmental and property procedures and policies to make sound decisions in absence of Director.



Job Requirements



  • Knowledge of Stratton Warren/MMS purchasing system or related system.
  • Minimum 4 years purchasing or related experience of hotel, food & beverage and/or casino supplies & equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mircosoft Office.



  • Ability to analyze spreadsheets and prepare cost comparisons for annual bid or projects without corporate support. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers and work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to coordinate, specify and bid items for multiple properties or as a corporate entity, print/uniforms/textile purchasing experience and MSDS training



Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining a physical condition necessary for standing, walking and sitting, frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and pushing; minimal dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of office equipment; utilizing a keyboard.
