Customer Service Representative

Motion Control and Industrial Automation

Summary: To provide first-rate customer service with an overall tactful, polite and professional attitude

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·         Provide prompt and courteous customer service when answering the phone; channel calls to the appropriate person

·         Answer all customer inquiries including order status, shipping & receiving dates, expediting, and pricing

·         Communicate leads and sales potential to outside sales force

·         Enter sales leads, customer orders and updated customer information into computer

·         Publication of daily and monthly departmental reports

·         Purchasing, purchase order confirmations, and invoicing

·         Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and factory representatives while exhibiting cooperative and courteous behavior

 

Non-Essential Duties & Other Responsibilities:

´           Maintain professional, technical, and computer knowledge via educational training/workshops/publications

´           Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report all unsafe activity to supervisor or Human Resources

´           Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

´           Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Experience & Requirements:
 

  • HS degree, college preferred but not required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent industrial / commercial customer service or inside sales experience with tangible products
  • Experience with software packages with real time inventory, sales order entry and purchase order entry
  • Customer service advocate-willing to go the extra mile to service internal and external customers
  • Strong interpersonal / communication skills (Outgoing personality-easily creates relationships with customers)
  • High energy and self motivated-completes responsibilities with a sense of urgency
  • Capable of working effectively in a dynamic multitasking environment
  • Good organizational skills and pays close attention to accuracy and details
  • Good judgment / problem solving skills – able to provide independent analysis
  • Technical aptitude Hands on experience preferred
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office applications

 
Physical/Environmental Demands: Standing, walking, and sitting for a majority of the time, Use of hands and arms to touch, lift, reach, etc., Talking and hearing for a majority of the time, Typing, Lifting and/or exerting up to 10 lbs. of weight/force, No travel required
