Canon Business Process Services, Inc. has an opening for a Senior Systems Engineer in our New York City or Bountiful Utah offices.The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for evaluating, defining and supporting the effective utilization of specific network devices and services, computer technologies, and implementation schedules as defined by Canon Business Process Services (CBPS). The incumbent will support a broad base of network devices, services (existing and future) and project implementations, as well as provide direction and leadership in all aspects within the CBPS Network and Server team.
  • Primary responsibilities will include the support of the CBPSLAN/ WAN infrastructure.
  • Provides leadership in project implementations, including customer requirements, solution design, project planning, control policies and quality assurance within CBPS offices and site locations.
  • Coordinates with vendors to develop test criteria to qualify the network service’s ability to meet functional specifications and customer needs.
  • Monitors and provides feedback to management on network infrastructure.
  • Standardizes the implementation and maintenance of all network service offerings as directed.
  • Provides on-going support of all CBPS WAN segments.
  • Determines and documents business operational requirements by analyzing requirements, developing operational and technical alternatives, and recommending solutions that satisfy all requirements. 
  • Ensures that all solutions are implementable, manageable and cost effective.
  • Must understand corporate business objectives, and apply necessary judgment to effectively utilize limited I.T. resources.
  • Participates in Client or Prospect sales calls, providing technical and operational expertise to the discussion.
  • Manage VMWare Virtualized Server farm.
  • Manage Compellent/EMC Storage Network - SAN solution.
  • Configures, implements, manages and troubleshoots a variety of Fortinet/Cisco/Juniper/Dell Hardware/Software Products, including: VPN Concentrators, Firewalls, SSL VPN, Routers, Switches, and Wireless equipment.
  • Perform server and security audits.
  • Ensure system backups and recovery.
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  Limited Domestic travel 25-30% and some International travel -less than 5% is required.

 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Relevant Industry Certifications (such as CCNA, MCSE, etc.) 
  • Masters degree preferred.
 Experience Necessary:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Network Administrator/Engineer
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in systems administration
  • Minimum 8 years of Information Technology experience.
 Equipment Knowledge:
  • Routers, Firewalls, VPN, Virtual Host, Switches, Server Hardware
 Computer Skills:
  • Software technologies should include Microsoft Windows network operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Lotus Notes.  Experience with Cisco routers, Firewalls, Windows Active Directory, VPN technologies. Various LAN and WAN experience is required.
  • Electronic imaging, Electronic print, Electronic document management experiences a plus
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP networking including IP Addressing, DHCP, DNS, WINS and basic TCP/IP Troubleshooting
  • Principles and methods of system and storage capacity such as SCSI, RAID and DLT Drives
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to quickly assess and prioritize
  • Communicate effectively with diverse groups and clients
  • Ability to perform under tight and often stressful deadlines
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Work with peers and team to establish departmental decisions, processes and ensure standardized activities
