 We are seeking an Assistant Manager to supervise a team at a high profile account in Philadelphia, PA (University City). The candidate we are presently seeking must have Material Handling/Distribution Supervisory experience.

The hours for this position are from 11pm-8am Monday-Friday.
You must be willing to work flexible hours if needed. This schedule can change with little notice but will always cover overnight shifts

This is a 24/7 Operation.
Previous experience working in a healthcare setting a PLUS!

  • Responsible for Materials Distribution Department
  • Maintains day-to-day communications with Sr. Materials Distribution Manager and Area Manager
  • Keeps management informed of all operational issues
  • Works with management to evaluate research and recommend solutions to Distribution mgt related issues.
  • Delegates assignments to staff and monitors progress
  • Prioritize, schedule and delegates assignments to staff and monitors progress
  • Ensure quality and productivity standards are being met by staff
  • Ensure proper maintenance and usage of all equipment and supplies
  • Interface with the client, operations team, and corporate departments as necessary
  • Initiate communication and problem solving with regard to customer concerns
  • Assist Manager with administration of HR policies and procedures including performance evaluations, employee training, development and motivation
  • Assists in recruiting new employees
  • Compiles weekly and monthly statistical data to be used by Manager for reporting
  • Manage budget and control expenses effectively
  • Assists with staff payroll, site billing, and service enhancements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma; College degree preferred
  • Previous experience managing a staff of 10+  non-exempt employees a plus
  • Ability to use word processing and spreadsheets applications (Microsoft Office Programs)
  • Working knowledge of Lawson preferred.
  • Ability to “think critically”; solve problems immediately and effectively.  
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines- position requires good time management skills
  • Advanced customer service skills, professional attitude & appearance
  • Strong organizational, administrative, record keeping & time management skills.
  • Successful track record in motivating , training, coaching and supervising a staff to meet quality and productive stands
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • The candidate selected must be dependable, reliable, detail oriented with good organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, FBI Fingerprinting, Child Abuse clearance,  and Drug test
