Job Summary:

Interface is currently seeking a Cost Accountant in LaGrange, GA. 

Position summary:
Responsible for accurate product costing and maintaining cost standards, month end closing, inventory analysis and reporting.

Essential duties:

  • Value all backing,, yarn, mixing,, latex, packing, protek, and polycarbite physical inventories at month end
  • Prepare journal entries to record inventory change and adjust Purchase Price Variance
  • Prepares and distributes the weekly Plant Operating Reports
  • Assists in the input, preparation and distribution of the Monthly IFS/Canada Operating Book
  • Maintains Product Cost Files and assists in the preparation of Yearly Cost Standards Revision
  • Support the needs of all Interface Americas companies
  • Product costing – costing for new products and update cost on existing products
  • Month-end closing – preparation of journal entries to record monthly transactions
  • Inventory – reconcile control sheets to general ledger accounts to record inventory changes
  • Standards – maintains product cost files and develops standards for inventory valuation
  • Assists in the input, preparation and distribution of the Monthly Manufacturing Cost Statements
  • Ad Hoc reporting and analysis
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • Comply with safety rules
  • Comply with environmental regulations
  • Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Educational requirements:

  • Four year college degree with major in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Engineering preferred or Seven years of cost/general accounting experience in manufacturing environment in place of degree

Skills and experience:

  • 3 to 4 years work experience preferably in a manufacturing accounting position
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to multi task with little supervision
  • Aptitude for data analysis and reporting using spreadsheet and word processing
  • Ability to be flexible due to changing daily assignments
  • Computer literate
  • AS400 or JD Edwards experience preferred
