Job Summary:

Position Summary:

The director of financial reporting’s responsibility is to manage the creation  of external financial reports in compliance with GAAP and SEC requirements, as well as manage the company’s compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.  Role will also be the equivalent of an “accounting help desk” to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards. The role will also help with the preparation and review of internal financial statements and presentations.  Candidate will also take on special projects within the finance function. 


Essential Duties:

  • Prepare required external filings (10-q, 10-k, 11-k) in compliance with SEC requirements.  Process will include integration with legal, tax and executive personnel to produce high quality documents. 
  • Assist in  preparation of quarterly financial results press releases
  • Own the XBRL reporting process
  • Manage SOX compliance globally
  • Act as first point of contact for accounting inquiries to ensure transactions are completed in accordance with GAAP and company needs
  • Act as lead project manager in the implementation of new accounting standards globally. 
  • Review key controls and offer suggestions to improve/limit the control set to improve efficiency
  • Act as first line of contact for the audit of financial statements on a global basis.  Interact with auditors and monitor their progress and requests for information
  • Work closely with FP&A personnel to review financial statements and analyze company performance against plans and prior periods
  • Lead the process to create a global accounting manual to ensure consistent application of company policy and GAAP
  • Assist in internal financial statements preparation and board/sr. management presentations as necessary


Educational requirements: 

BS/BA or equivalent, CPA required

Skills and experience:

  • 7-10 years of experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry experience. The ideal candidate will have been at the manager level in public accounting during their career. 
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP required
  • Experience auditing publically traded companies is required.
  • Exposure to global companies is preferable 
  • Experience with manufacturing clients is preferable.
  • Exposure to derivative instruments during their career
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with persons of different nationalities is a must
  • Strong oral, written and organizational communication skills - the ability to create position papers on accounting matters is a necessity
  • Must be comfortable preparing and delivering presentations to various level of an organization
  • Working knowledge of computers with experience in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Must be willing to take on assignments outside of job description and grow as an executive
  • Travel required ~ estimated at 20-25%
