MANAGER, ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing all daily, weekly, and monthly functions of Accounts Payable. This position reports directly to the Director, Treasury and is located at 300 Park Blvd, Hershey.
 
Job Functions(Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

  • Manages the AP disbursement group which handles vendor related check and electronic payments. Oversees processing and tracking of charges on company credit cards through T&E reporting system. Manages vendor relations and supports internal customer requests.*
  • Develops, implements and maintains accounts payable systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to Company guidelines. Responsible for recommendations to Management and coordination of projects related to process improvements and enhancement of internal controls in the accounts payable area. Responsible for ongoing documentation of all Accounts Payable related processes and procedures.*
  • Manages recording of fixed assets, and ensures accuracy and timeliness. Enters status change information to ensure that asset information is accurate and up to date. Provides information as needed to external accountants.*
  • Selects and hires accounts payable employees. Trains and evaluates employees to enhance performance, development, and work product. Addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions. Prepares and recommends operating budget for accounts payable. Monitors adherence to budget and recommends variances as necessary.* 

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have a valid Drivers' License
 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must have good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Certified Accredited Payables Manager (APM) a plus
  • Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) a plus
